Wrist Fracture
At COSM, wrist fractures are one of the most common conditions we treat, especially those involving the distal radius. Some fractures can be managed in a cast or brace, while more severe or displaced fractures often require expert surgical care.
Expert Assessment
- Our orthopedic trauma specialists carefully evaluate your injury.
- On-site X-rays and scans ensure an accurate diagnosis.
- Our team will guide you through the best treatment option—cast, brace, or surgery.
- A full recovery plan is tailored for you, often including physiotherapy or hand therapy with our rehabilitation experts.

Treatment Options
Non-operative
- Ideal for simple, stable fractures
- Managed with a cast or custom wrist brace
- Regular reviews with follow-up X-rays
Surgical
- Recommended for displaced or unstable fractures
- Performed by our COSM orthopedic surgeons using plates, screws, or bone grafting if required
- Ensures proper alignment and long-term wrist stability
Risks of Surgery
Even in expert hands, risks can include:
– Infection
– Delayed or non-healing of bone
– Hardware removal (plate/screws) in some cases
– Wrist arthritis over time
Our team will discuss all possible risks with you and ensure you feel supported throughout.
